The only issue I have with GoodTask is that its interface could use a refresh, especially on Mac. It's faster to use overall, due to a well thought through Quick Actions feature. The 2Do email-to-task add-on is workable but clunky, I need to remember the syntax, and to make any changes I have to get my phone out. I can quickly and easily create and edit tasks from emails in Apple Mail (by sharing with Reminders) or in desktop Outlook (by copying to Tasks). I can add a task in Goodtask on iPhone using Siri while driving and it will be in my Outlook tasks on work laptop the next day. This means I can access my work tasks from Exchange, tasks from my secondary accounts on, my wife's google tasks, our family shared shopping list, and my personal Reminders all in one app. It uses the native Reminders and Calendars databases. This is one of my two big gripes with it. I find 2Do interface a little better visually organized.
Goodtask 3 manual#
Subtasks, Automatic Repeat after Completion & Manual sort (GoodTask 3 only). Not a major issue for me as I still get the same results, just with a couple more taps. GoodTask is a task and project manager app that is based on iOS Reminders. In GoodTask, I have to either search for tasks containing the tag, or create a reusable smart list based on that tag there's no tag list view. Tags are automatically added to the tag panel for future filtering. GoodTask's subtasks are just checklists inside tasks, that can't have their own due date or any other attributes. Used both, although haven't used 2Do in a few years. I eventually moved on to something I basically wrote myself, so my knowledge of GoodTask is a year or so out of date. Overall I was happy with both, they have quite a bit of overlap. Sadly, for some reason GoodTask was unable to sync start dates through to my other devices, whereas 2Do was, but I think if you aren't doing a home server thing like I was, this is less likely to happen to you. There's some extra kind of daily journaling stuff that I didn't have much use for. GoodTask felt more slick and modern, while also having powerful smart lists that were a bit easier to set up.

GoodTask is probably still going to get more frequent and substantial updates I'd expect though. It looks like that has changed somewhat, I see a few updates in the last year or so, so that's looking more encouraging. GoodTask is very much in active development and 2Do very much was not. I switched to GoodTask when widgets changed on iOS and it became clear that they weren't coming to 2Do any time soon. For my particular setup, it was nice that 2Do can connect to a CalDAV server directly. Powerful, but getting the filter set up right was sometimes a struggle. I liked 2Do, but the smart list feature was a little strange.
